About Us

Established in 1978 by Syed Manzoor Shah Hamdani, Qamar-ul-Islam Hospital (QIH) has evolved from a small polyclinic to a notable charitable hospital in Khayaban-e-Jami, DHA/Clifton, Karachi. With a 50-bed capacity, QIH serves a vast population, providing high-quality healthcare to those in need, especially the underprivileged, through the generous contributions of donors and dedicated medical staff.

Leadership

Director Moin Hamdani continues his father’s legacy with dedication and affection towards societal betterment. With extensive experience managing international hospitals in the UAE, Moin has returned to QIH to enhance its services and provide free healthcare to the needy.

Our Founder

The late Syed Manzoor Shah Hamdani (1933-2019) was a renowned social reformer, humanitarian, and philanthropist. His contributions to health and education sectors significantly impacted the lives of many. Under his leadership, QIH became known for its free medical camps in rural Pakistan and for attracting the city’s top doctors to serve the deprived.

QIH aims to offer differentiated, high-quality healthcare to those for whom this basic necessity is out of reach. Despite limited resources, QIH strives to expand its services, adding more doctors, machinery, and equipment to better serve the community.
